Everything Will Be Fine Brings The Web To The Traditional Movie Theater – and Thousands of Dollars to Portland!

The name of this site is Oregon Film and TV Dollars, but that’s something of a misnomer.  In the 21st century, media production in Oregon goes will beyond traditional definitions of “film” and “television.”  Today, you’re as likely to watch a “movie” on your computer screen or phone as you are to watch it in a theater… video game and multimedia production employ an increasing number of skilled “Film and TV” workers… and the internet has given film and TV makers an open field to self-distribute independent content such as podcasts, short films and web-series.

One of these episodic series made specifically for the internet, Everything Will Be Fine, will step back into the movie-house when creator Scott Tebeau premieres the first seven episodes of his series at Portland’s Hollywood Theater tomorrow night before the series officially launches online.

The series features a 100% Oregonian cast and crew and was shot entirely in Portland.  The dark comedy, which follows two young Britains who mistakenly end up in the Rose City, cost Tabeau about $35,000.00 to make.  The majority of this money, he says, was spent developing marketing materials, buying equipment, and feeding his cast and crew.

“We mostly shot in the industrial area of SE Portland, Alberta Street… and a little bit in Northwest,” says Tabeau.  “We didn’t really have anything catered, so when it was time for lunch we’d all just go to area restaurants and sit down and eat.”

After tomorrow night’s Hollywood Theater screening at 7:00 PM (Tabeau says the audience will see about 2 1/2 hours of the 12 hours worth of material he’s got for the series), the episodes will be available at the show’s official web site: http://www.everythingwillbefine.tv.  Tabeau and his producing partners are continuing to market the series with an eye towards financing a second season – either by continuing to “webcast” or moving the series to traditional television or cable channels.
